Deliver comprehensive nursing care to inmate-patients using established clinical protocols • Respond to medical emergencies, including performing CPR when required • Conduct intake assessments, sick call evaluations, and chronic care clinics • Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments per the physicians orders • Document care accurately in medical records and medication logs • Collaborate with physicians, dentists, healthcare staff, and security personnel • Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs and healthcare support staff • Maintain strict control of medications, sharps, and medical equipment • Educate patients and staff on health and safety practices. • This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City's current substance abuse policy • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record in accordance with City of Hampton criteria, if required by assignment • The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during city emergencies, or at the direction of the City Manager or designee, which may include long hours and unusual schedules • Must maintain required licensure, credentialing, annual physicals, and continuing education consistent with State Board of Nursing requirements.
