p>Duties and Responsibilities: - Safely operate construction and paving equipment and a variety of vehicles once certified, including proper loading, unloading, securing, and transport of equipment and materials to and from job sites in compliance with company policies, DOT permitting limits, FMCSA cargo securement regulations, and equipment manufacturer guidelines,• Perform required pre- and post-trip inspections; inspect, clean, and perform minor equipment maintenance or repairs using hand tools, and promptly report equipment issues, incidents, or malfunctions to supervisors and dispatch,• Read and interpret equipment operator manuals; calculate truck and trailer weights to ensure compliance with applicable regulations,• Provide hands-on support to crews as needed, work safely on uneven terrain, assist in training new or less-experienced equipment operators, and consistently wear required PPE and proper work attire,• Maintain flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends, and perform additional duties as assigned,• May be required to work extended hours including evenings, nights, and weekends,• Additional duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the workday,• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat, and twist, throughout the workday,• This includes frequently walking on sloped ground and slippery and uneven surfaces,• This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time and the constant use of hands and arms,• This job requires the ability to see, whether naturally or with vision correction tools (e.g., glasses, contact lenses),• Performing strenuous work for extended periods in varying temperatures, humidity, wind, and other inclement weather conditions,• Work may be performed in environments with exposure to extremely hot materials, fuel, fumes, vapors, dust, grease and oils, as well as loud and/or constant noise and moving equipment.
