The RN Wound Care performs a variety of duties including but not limited to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of all educational programs designed to inform the patient/family/significant other about the patients condition and treatment related to ostomy surgery, ostomies, wound care to include: decubitus ulcers, draining wounds, drain sites, foot/nail care, and self catheterization. A plan of care based on trends of similar patients, including patient education and discharge planning is formulated; Tailors and prioritizes caring practice to individual needs, including cultural/ethical/spiritual needs at all times.
