Preferred Qualifications: Five or more years of professional experience managing or coordinating diversity and inclusion (D&I)/diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, projects, strategies, and activities, preferably in the public health and/or health care delivery sectors; professional experience with policy formulation, interpretation, and implementation of program planning, design, implementation, evaluation, and/or allocation of resources; JD degree preferred; familiarity with New York State government policies and programs; experience working within a government agency (local, state, or federal) or Executive branch of New York State government; Knowledge of and experience with applied practice of the principles of health equity (i.e. health inequities, health disparities, and/or social determinants of health) and diversity and inclusion/diversity, equity and inclusion; demonstrated experience in effectively interact with a workforce comprised of individuals from differing backgrounds, and to treat everyone with respect and dignity; demonstrated experience working with a wide range of stakeholders (e.g., government representatives, community leaders, advocacy organizations, academic and research organizations, etc.); demonstrated professional experience convening and directing the deliberations of committees, boards, councils, and/or commissions; demonstrated professional experience with policy formulation; proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; skilled in review and editing of documents for both internal communications and public viewing; demonstrated, strong organizational and interpersonal skills; professional experience supervising staff. The incumbents responsibilities will include direct and oversee strategic initiatives and programmatic functions and activities; direct and oversee efforts related to workforce competency and capacity building aimed at supporting the New York State Department of Health workforce; direct and oversee work (priority setting, operations, and administration) related to the Center for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategic initiatives, programmatic functions and activities; set priorities, anticipate problems, develop contingency plans, and proactively respond to issues; review planning, development, and execution of activities; direct and oversee resource allocation and diversification of funding resources for programs and initiatives; direct and oversee the collection and analysis of data; and direct and oversee legislative and regulatory analysis to inform and support Center for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program and policy planning and development.
