Ability to operate computer systems to maintain patient documentation, testing records, and other related documents Excellent knowledge of laboratory rules and regulations Excellent communication, leadership, mentorship, and customer service skills promoting a strong teamwork environment Ability to delegate effectively and multitask Excellent computer and keyboarding skills; familiarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet Flexibility in scheduling of hours, may be required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays Good oral communication skills and excellent organization and people skills Maintains continuing education hours This position is primarily light in nature, with a maximum amount of lifting being 20% of body weight; requires walking, standing, and sitting Must meet the hospital's established health requirements Education: Bachelor's [Required] Field of Study: Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution OR Bachelor's degree equivalency with 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses; or 24 semester hours of science courses that include: 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology; and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination; AND have a laboratory training program that includes: completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by the ABHES or the CAAHEP (this training may be included in the 60 semester hours listed above; or at least three months documented laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs testing OR Successful completion of at least a 50-week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician; or qualified and served as high complexity testing personnel on or before April 24, 1995 in a CLIA-certified laboratory as of December 28, 2024, and have done so continuously since December 28, 2024.
