Brief Job Description: Under the direct supervision of the Communicable Disease Program manager, the Public Health Nurse II performs complex nursing work that includes the delivery of congenital syphilis and HIV/STI services and for the areas designated; to include the coordination of services, technical consultation and clinical support for Communicable Disease, particularly HIV/STI activities. May provide consultation, training, and technical assistance to agency staff, care recipients, provider agencies, and the medical community to ensure treatment is completed · Collects specimens for laboratory testing to include urine, blood via venipuncture or fingerstick, and self-collection swabs · Maintains detailed records of patient encounters in state databases.

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, this position participates as a team member or team coordinator conducting inspections, surveys, and investigations in Long Term Care facilities (Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Day Activities and Health Services) to determine compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and rules. field position, a surveyor is mobile and flexible and performs minimal work at an office, though the role does require writing reports detailing any deficiencies/violations against a facility, remedies to correct those deficiencies, and narrative to support regulatory determinations.

As part of a collaborative team of public servants, a Nurse surveyor protects residents' health and safety by conducting on-site inspections and investigations, including investigations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation, in Texas long-term care settings (Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability or Related Condition (ICF/IID)) to assess their compliance with state and federal laws and rules. Essential Job Functions (EJFs): Under the direction of a program manager, a nurse surveyor conducts on-site licensure inspections, complaint and incident investigations, and annual comprehensive surveys to include investigations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation in facilities to determine compliance with federal and state health and safety regulations.
