Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: • Receives training via department-specific on-the-job training (OJT); receives additional training in leadership development, financial skills, and management skills • Works in tandem with Department Manager and other Store Partners to apply training and skills; the goal of training is to learn the following Department Manager tasks: Sales: Achieves Store's financial objectives Manages large product assortment; grows sales volume Meets expectations in terms of service, in-stock conditions, and product offerings Develops / executes in-Store merchandising plans for everyday and seasonal items Executes corporate merchandising programs; ensures plan-o-gram integrity Plans / organizes short- and long-term activities within department Management: Trains, coaches, and develops fellow Partners Ensures department staffing through effective scheduling Complies / ensures compliance with federal, state, and H-E-B regulations and policies, and department SOPs Minimizes shrink through inventory control and loss prevention activities The responsibilities and essential functions outlined above describe the general nature and level of work assigned to this position.
