SUMMARY: As a member of the Comprehensive Spine Center team, reporting to the attending physicians, performs physical examinations, interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests, formulates a differential diagnosis, and establishes a working diagnosis, develops a treatment plan for neurosurgical, physiatry and pain conditions within the scope of practice and in conjunction with the neurosurgeon, physiatrist, and pain specialist. Programs intrathecal medication delivery systems (pumps), performs pump refills, performs status checks during and after intrathecal system trials and implant procedures, carefully documents all patient encounters and monitors subjective pain levels and objective functional status, and follows evidenced based, nationally accepted guidelines as well as strict policies and procedures for management of pumps patients.
