To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 1 full year of graduate level education in a major of safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene), or degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study from among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology. This announcement is open to Internal and Status candidates; VEOA eligibles, i.e., preference eligible veterans or veterans who have been separated under honorable conditions from the armed forces after 3 or more years of continuous active service may compete under merit promotion procedures; current, permanent Veterans Canteen Service employees may apply, and will be considered in the same manner as a current VA employee.
