Required Qualifications

ul>The Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner shall provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated). - The Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner shall poses a Master''s degree in Nursing from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
The alternative way to meet the core faculty degree requirement is to have a doctoral degree in a related field (e.g., Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Educational Administration) AND to have been employed as a faculty member in a counselor education program for at least a full academic year BEFORE July 1, 2013. Participate in departmental functions, including but not limited to participating in the analysis of student progress, assisting in general faculty searches, and admissions activities, contributing to general and specific curriculum development activities, mentoring of new faculty members, and other related duties as assigned.
