li>Configure, integrate, and maintain relationships with providers of externally-hosted IT services; Track and resolve service requests with hardware and software vendors; Monitor vendor and industry security alerts and update notifications and perform software and firmware updates to protect the security and stability of IT systems; Provide direct, second- or third-tier, and internal user support for a variety of software applications and services; Respond to, evaluate, and correct IT system failures during and outside regular work hours; Develop processes for automation of repeated administrative tasks; Develop integration processes between heterogeneous computing systems; Generate detailed requirements and specifications for systems-level application development; Analyze business processes and institutional requirements to recommend technical solutions; Conduct research on hardware and software components of IT systems in support of procurement and development efforts. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain enterprise IT system hardware (servers, storage, appliances, etc.);
- Install, configure, and maintain enterprise IT system operating systems (Windows, Unix, etc.);
- Install, configure, and maintain data application services (databases, directories, "middleware," etc.);
- Install, configure, and maintain application software (email, web servers, etc.).
