Medication Administration (prescription meds – NH & ME only): Administer medications under the supervision and direction of licensed healthcare providers, adhering to state regulations and guidelines for medication administration.ul>Provide Patient-Centered Care: Conduct health assessments, physical exams, and review medical histories to address short- and long-term patient needs while staying committed to high-quality, efficient patient care.- Assess patient health: Interview patients, perform physical examinations, obtain, update, and study medical histories.
- Collaborate with a Team:Work collaboratively and pro-actively with other providers and health care practitioners within your clinic to efficiently treat patients, and plan coordinated, efficient, and thoughtful dispositions (including transfer), all in a timely manner.
MA's may instruct patients about medications and special diets as directed, prepare and administer medications as directed, authorize drug refills according to protocols as directed, telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy, draw blood, prepare patients for X-rays, take electrocardiograms, remove sutures, and change dressings. MA's may assist Physicians, Physicians Assistants and Nurse Practitioners with patient preparation and treatment, patient chart organization, dissemination of reports; referrals, telephone calls, inventory, ordering and general organization.
Agency staff must have completed the original or updated COVID-19 vaccine series, or present a documented religious and/or medical exemption from their employer, to be considered for any assignment.
