The Store Manager oversees and is accountable for the operation of a store, ensuring maximum sales and profitability through controlling expenses, shrinkage, human resources management as well as all aspects of merchandising and inventory control in adherence with all Company policies and procedures. The physical demands of the job require in excess of 8 hours of standing, walking, climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting. li>Champion the employer brand and organizational values, collaborating with the communications team to ensure corporate messaging is current, compelling, and effectively conveys our story to prospective candidates. li>Assists in human resources activities, such as developing sources of qualified applicants, conducting screening interviews, administering tests, completing candidate reference and background checks, and coordinating orientation/training for newly hired associates. Responsible for answering the human resources phone line, fax, and shared email inbox for proper distribution to the appropriate staff to handle. The HR Specialist will support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function, providing critical operational support across key HR processes, specifically Benefits, Employee Relations, and Mobility/Immigration. Designs and creates user friendly reports and data files for analysis using a variety of reporting tools such as Business Objects, EDDIE, and Decision Support to supply information regarding college faculty and staff, leaves temporary services, academic searches, and human resources performance metrics. Works with hiring managers to ensure positions are budgeted; assists in the development of job descriptions; reviews, and edits job advertisements; posts internal and external job postings; and implements College recruitment strategies utilizing the latest recruitment tools available. Partners with Compensation to facilitate resolution of complex compensation related issues within business or function; supports creation of new job descriptions and career ladders, provides information for job evaluations to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness; assists business leaders in annual performance review and salary increase processes. Partners with regional HR teams (HR Service Center, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Learning and Development) to implement initiatives that support workforce planning, talent acquisition and retention, talent management, succession planning, employee engagement and organizational design. li>Builds a collaborative and supportive environment by working effectively with students, parents, colleagues, administrators, and the broader school community, while maintaining a visible and active presence within the building. Provides human resources support to the facility by assisting in all personnel issues within corporate policies and procedures and all federal and state guidelines Prepares personnel files and maintain personnel records in accordance to facility and corporate personnel policies and guidelines Audits personnel files, ensuring all information is current and accurate Validates and updates licenses of all current employees through the appropriate licensing board and makes sure their files are updated Input all personnel information and all status changes for current/term employees in HRIS Provides consultation and training to facility management regarding employee relations issues, counseling and termination procedures as required Monitors performance appraisal reminder system and mechanisms for processing salary transactions and recordkeeping.
