Thorough knowledge of emergency medical care techniques and procedures; thorough knowledge of advanced life support methods, procedures and equipment; thorough knowledge of medical terminology; thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, practices, techniques and equipment required for emergency medical evaluation and treatment; thorough knowledge of the street system and physical layout of the County; thorough knowledge of departmental, County, State, and Federal policies, laws, regulations, techniques and practices regarding the operation of emergency medical services; ability to perform duties in emergency situations; ability to thoroughly evaluate, assess, and differentially diagnose patients conditions and communicate clearly with professional medical personnel; ability to perform general emergency medical treatment and specialized cardiac treatment; ability to respond quickly and calmly in non-emergent, emergency and stress situations; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with medical providers, fellow employees, patients, and the public; and ability to prepare reports.
