MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an income maintenance program, preferably with one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. In compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, Sampson County will employ only those individuals who are US citizens, or legal aliens authorized to maintain employment in the United States.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides professional counseling, assessment of psychosocial needs, assessments for financial needs and services including providing written explanation of Medicare, Medicaid and Insurance benefits to prospective patients/families when necessary, and provides guidance with regards to the grief and loss process. Communicates well with patients/residents/clients and family members providing warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude to families, visitors, patients/residents/clients and responds to expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor.
