Engage in scholarly activities that complement and inform teaching; Use inclusive and effective teaching methods to support and to enhance learning for students inside and outside of the classroom; Create positive learning environment for diverse students, faculty and staff; Collaborate with faculty from other disciplines or fields to develop and to provide integrative learning experiences; Conduct ongoing development, assessment, and revision of curriculum that is responsive to local industry needs, reflects innovative pedagogy, and incorporates advances in the field of medical assisting; Advise students and serve as a resource for faculty colleagues and staff; Demonstrate multicultural understanding and foster equity; Develop quality programs through active engagement with industry and participation in strategic planning, in assessment of program outcomes, and in taking action to address gaps or opportunities; Participate in division/department and other college activities, including college governance, etc. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge or understanding of: Impart excitement and enthusiasm into the teaching of medical assisting; Demonstrate knowledge and familiarity with current theories, research, and practice in medical assisting; Develop innovative programming, curricula, and pedagogy that incorporate program and general education learning outcomes; Engage students through innovative instructional approaches, including learning communities, service learning projects, contextualized learning, etc.
