Ability to effectively operate a backhoe and similar equipment in tight cemetery situations; considerable knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to machinery and equipment required in facility and grounds maintenance; Some knowledge of the principles of engineering as they apply to building construction and landscape projects; Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders and plans; Ability to organize, coordinate and supervise the work of others; Considerable knowledge of municipal park, recreation, cemetery, and facilities operations, including athletic field maintenance, sports court maintenance, playground systems, swimming pool systems, irrigation systems, and associated infrastructure. Experience managing, maintaining, inspecting, or overseeing athletic field surfaces and recreational facilities is preferred, including natural grass athletic fields, baseball and softball facilities, basketball courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts, walking trails, and related recreational infrastructure.
