A successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills with 2-3 years of experience repairing commercial gas, electrical, steam equipment.

Assembles mechanical units, fabricated parts/components and/or electrical/electronic systems to make sub-assemblies, assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment. Installs, modifies, moves, troubleshoots, repairs, overhauls, and dismantles machinery and equipment according to established documentation (e.g., SOPs), layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, or other drawings.

p>In this role, you will be primarily responsible for performing a variety of yard work and equipment delivery related duties while maintaining a high level of consideration for safety and operational compliance.

The Equipment Maintenance Technician is part of the equipment engineer team who provides expertise, service, and support to San Diego Illumina headquarters by maintaining equipment at world class levels in a fast pace regulated environment and providing high level reliability exceeding Illumina's dynamic development and manufacturing demands. Manages time and priorities effectively to execute multiple parallel activities like preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and administrative activities with minimal guidance to ensure work is completed on time.

May also include stationary positioning for an extended period of time, traverse campus/facility as needed, operate machinery such as computer, phone, copy machine; exposure to cold or hot temperatures.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Transfer animals from dirty to clean caging, ensuring provision of appropriate feed, water, and bedding, and promptly notify appropriate personnel of abnormal conditions.

Perform training as needed to Lower-level Maintenance Techs on troubleshooting and repair techniques utilized with equipment. This position is responsible for, but not limited to, performing preventative maintenance on production equipment to ensure total customer satisfaction.
