Your Specific Responsibilities: • Provides training and guidance to attorneys, OPS personnel within the Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco Legal Unit; • Litigates enforcement actions; • Evaluates investigative reports and evidence; • Drafts and issues subpoenas; • Negotiates settlements; • Drafts pleadings, complaints, motions, notices, and orders; • Compiles exhibits; • Witness preparation; • Takes and defends depositions; • Initiates and responds to discovery; • Prosecutes and defends enforcement cases and rule challenges before the Division of Administrative Hearings; • Prosecutes and defends final orders, emergency suspension orders, declaratory statements, rule waivers, and various cases in circuit courts; • Files and answers foreclosure cases; • Files claims and intervenes in bankruptcy proceedings and federal actions as requested by the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco; • Drafts, reviews, edits, and evaluates proposed rule packages; • Responds to Joint Administrative Procedures Committee correspondence; • Implements agency policy; • Responds to consumer inquiries in writing and verbally.
