Under minimal supervision, the Certified Pharmacy Technician III demonstrates consistent mastery, via formal assessment, within a specialized service line, including but not limited to: Automation Specialist - review, test, repair, and maintain pharmacy operating systems, Compounding Specialist - sterile and/or non-sterile medication compounding, Controlled Substance Specialist -maintain inventory and security of controlled substances, Investigational Specialist - prepare and manage investigational medication, Medication History Specialist - assist in the reconciliation of patient medications, Narcotic Diversion Specialist - proactive diversion monitoring of controlled substances, Pediatric Specialist - prepare and distribute complex medications for pediatric patients, Inventory Specialist - maintain accurate inventory controls of medication, Generalized Specialist - maintain, and consistently demonstrate, mastery in all operational areas. Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy By virtue of societal trust and security explicitly imparted to pharmacies for the control of drugs, candidate/incumbent must have a clean criminal record (i.e. no felony conviction; no drug or pharmacy related convictions, including misdemeanors; no denial, suspension, revocation, or restriction of registration or licensure by any State Board of Pharmacy).
