What you'll be doing: Lead the design and development of HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, and public-sector projects Perform and oversee load calculations, system sizing, equipment selection, and energy analysis Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and construction documents Manage projects from concept through construction, including scope, schedule, and budget control Coordinate with architectural clients, structural, electrical, and plumbing teams to ensure integrated design solutions Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients and support business development efforts Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers Support construction phase services, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and field coordination What you'll bring: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or ability to obtain) 8-15+ years of experience in HVAC/mechanical systems design Demonstrated experience in project management and client interaction Strong knowledge of ASHRAE guidelines, NYS Building Code, and energy codes Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM) design platforms Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Requirements Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration Read, write, and unders Any staffing/employment agency, person, or entity that submits an unsolicited resume to this site does so with the understanding that the applicant's resume will become the property of GPI and has the right to hire that applicant at its discretion and without any fee owed to the submitting staffing/employment agency, person or entity.
