Position requires advanced knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as physical and virtual compute including rack and blade servers, DAS and SAN storage, physical and virtual networks systems from vendors such as Supermicro, Dell, and CISCO; advanced knowledge of virtualization technologies and concepts, such as virtual machines (VMs), servers, storage, and compute management with common hypervisors such as VMware, KVM, OpenStack, or Nutanix AHV; expert ability to use infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, BitBucket and Git; expert knowledge in the configuration, planning, implementation, administration and optimization of compute, storage, and network infrastructures, including CPU and memory controls, storage management, and system networking; an ability to manage, optimize, plan, and design complex infrastructure that uses Server Operating Systems such as Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Ubuntu, and related technologies such as Active Directory and DNS; a solid understanding of security best practices and tools for cloud environments, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and monitoring; very strong problem-solving skills in hybrid environments with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues; the ability to provide on-call support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week; strong scripting and automation skills using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, BitBucket and Git; and strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Position requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field and five years' experience in the application of infrastructure technologies with a focus on designing, implementing, and managing physical and virtual infrastructure in a production environment.
