The position is primarily responsible for monitoring behavior, visitors, and visitor access, securing buildings and property, investigating disturbances, maintaining order during events, enforcing safety and security policies and procedures to visitors, students, faculty, and staff, patrolling buildings and grounds, addressing parking and traffic situations, issuing violations, and providing professional responses to safety or security situations. As necessary, direct and/or perform tasks related to providing personal safety/security to staff, visitors, and students, verbally de-escalate confrontation situations, and provide guidance and leadership in cases of emergency or crisis within guidelines and established procedures.
