Designs and implements operational, technical and administrative methods and programs for university law enforcement functions to include (but not limited to) community and problem oriented policing, crime prevention, criminal and administrative investigations, patrol operations, traffic control, public safety, tactical response to critical events incident command, risk mitigation, threat assessment and abatement, special event management, dignitary protection, dispatch operations, emergency management, Clery and Title IX compliance, accreditation, victim assistance, property and evidence, recruiting and personnel, training, physical and human asset security, key control, public relations, inventory control, technology management. Work involves exposure to emergency public safety environment; emergency and disaster situations; potentially hostile environments; dangerous and/or hostile people; animal and human body fluids; hazards of emergency driving hazards associated with traffic control and working in and near traffic; working in and near natural and man-made disasters; inclement weather conditions; working around heavy vehicles and equipment; noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes and gases; hazardous chemicals; high voltage and toxic materials; waste and infectious diseases; and frequent contact with the public.
