Discuss potential risks, benefits, ethical considerations, and long-term outcomes for babies with complex prenatal diagnoses · Support families in making informed decisions regarding treatment or pregnancy management · Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including maternal-fetal medicine specialists, pediatric surgeons, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, genetic counselors, and social workers · Coordinate care plans from diagnosis through delivery and neonatal treatment · Supervise sonographers within the clinical practice Academic & Institutional Responsibilities · Participate in patient care, teaching, research, and committee service aligned with academic goals · Actively contribute to the educational mission of the department, including: o Delivering lectures to fellows, residents, and medical students o Participating in Grand Rounds, M&M Conferences, Journal Club, division meetings, and departmental activities Qualifications · Completion of a terminal degree (MD or DO) · Completion of an ACGME-accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology residency (4 years) · Completion of Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship training · Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology · Licensure with the Georgia Composite Medical Board required prior to employment Preferred Qualifications · Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Fetal Interventionalist · Exceptional surgical precision and hand-eye coordination · Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making abilities · Emotional resilience and effective stress management · Excellent communication skills and empathy when working with families facing complex diagnoses · Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. The position offers: · A collaborative, multidisciplinary environment · Access to advanced imaging and surgical technologies · Opportunities for research, innovation, and academic advancement · The ability to make a meaningful impact on maternal and fetal outcomes Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Care & Diagnosis · Provide consultative services to General Obstetricians in the treatment of obstetric and maternal fetal medicine concerns · Evaluate fetal conditions using ultrasound, fetal MRI, and genetic testing · Diagnose structural abnormalities, chromosomal conditions, and life-threatening fetal disorders · Assess maternal health factors impacting treatment and delivery options Surgical & Interventional Procedures · Perform minimally invasive fetoscopic surgeries using small cameras and instruments inserted into the uterus.
