A Nurse Manager opportunity for a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is available in Asheville, NC at an 853-bed regional tertiary and quaternary care center that serves as the region's only trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and Level III neonatal intensive care unit, and holds Magnet® designation for nursing excellence.

The role. The CVICU Nurse Manager oversees daily operations of a 19-bed unit with a team of 65 staff working alongside nationally recognized physicians. This leader integrates clinical, human resource, and financial data to guide decision-making, ensures compliance with regulatory and professional standards, and promotes evidence-based practice across clinical and operational processes. The manager collaborates with nursing leadership on organizational planning and initiative evaluation, while actively contributing to the professional development of staff, students, and colleagues. An on-call requirement of once every six weeks applies, which is primarily administrative in nature.

What we're looking for.
  • BSN or equivalent (ADN with MSN, BA with MSN) required; Master's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON.
  • National Certification in area of specialty within one year of accepting the role. Certification may be in leadership or area of clinical practice. Those actively pursuing degree must obtain national certification within 1 year of graduation.
  • BLS Healthcare Provider
  • A minimum of five years of recent nursing experience; 2 years in relevant clinical hospital experience with demonstrated leadership skills – charge or manager experience is required
  • Post-cardiothoracic background required
  • Previous leadership experience preferred

Schedule. Full-time, day shift, Monday through Friday with administrative hours and no weekend requirements.

Compensation. $90,000 - $125,000 per year plus Sign-on bonus available
