The main function of this role is to provide consistent, high-quality perioperative/postoperative care for all surgery patients, The APP will be expected to function as an active member of the Surgical and Cardiovascular team, Responsibilities include surgical first assisting, perioperative/postoperative management for surgical and cardiac catheterization patients, hospital rounds on inpatients, and emergency room consultations, outpatient diagnostics (Stress Test), and medical decision making/management of Surgical and Cardiovascular patients, The APP will be expected to work to the full extent of their licensure with an emphasis on supervised autonomy. This can include insertion/discontinuing central lines including but not limited to chest tubes, arterial lines, wound dressing changes, bed side procedure, insertion of temporary dialysis catheters, daily physical exams, midline catheters, and addressing any concerns of the patients on the service.
