Strong candidates will have:** + Four or more units of CPE from an accredited CPE center + Provisional or Full Board Certification with the APC, NACC, or NAJC + Experience as a healthcare chaplain, with experience in hospice or palliative care preferred + Experience in a trauma center and/or academic healthcare organization + Experience in working effectively and collaboratively as part of a healthcare team + Experience providing spiritual care with a diverse community, including use of interpreters + Experience in mentoring/teaching Clinical Pastoral Education students + Advanced training or certificate in Palliative Care **REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS** + Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) or Master's degree in theological/pastoral studies from an institution accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation ( www.chea.org ) + Two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from an accredited CPE center + Goal to pursue Full Board Certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), or Nashama: Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC) + Two to three years' professional work experience on a team and/or work experience as a palliative care team member **ABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER** As the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine. **WORK SCHEDULE** - Full-Time / 30 hours per week - Rotating/Variable Shift **DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION** The mission of the Department of Spiritual Care is to provide high quality, cross-culturally sensitive spiritual care to patients, families and staff of Harborview Medical Center as well as to provide a program of pastoral education to clergy, theological students, and qualified lay persons in the hospital and the larger community which the Medical Center serves.
