This position is often called upon to plan, organize, train staff in the functions of the building trades, and to direct and supervise assigned activities of the Plant Operations functions which are necessary in maintaining the hospital plant in working conditions. The incumbent must be highly skilled in all aspects of the building trades including but not limited to; carpentry, plumbing, electrical, utility management, welding, masonry, sheet metal fabrication, construction, mechanics, etc.
What your day-to-day will look like: Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across all building systems, demonstrating technical expertise in one primary craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations) while maintaining multi-skilled capabilities in others. Physical capability to frequently walk, climb, bend, kneel, lift a minimum of 80 lbs., stoop, and work/extend overhead, including navigating rooftops, climbing stairs, and ascending ladders with a 300-lb weight limit while carrying a 20-lb tool bag.

• Master's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace, materials or industrial engineering • Experience with the build, assembly, or integration of large mechanical assemblies • Knowledge of metallic manufacturing techniques, processes, and equipment related to welding, metal forming, fastening, drilling, bonding and automation • Mechanical component and/or tooling design and analysis experience using 3D CAD software • Experience with design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA) • Experience transitioning complex products from R&D to high-volume manufacturing in a fast-paced environment • Experience writing work instructions and procedures for critical aerospace parts.
li>Qualified to operate or assist in operating all heating and ventilating equipment, engines, turbines, motors, combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, ice and refrigerating machines, air conditioning units, fans and siphons on the site assigned. This includes hard surface maintenance and repair, basic carpentry and metal work, operating, maintaining and repairing all facility system equipment associated with HVAC operations and mechanical and electrical systems.
