OVERVIEW:The key role of Admissions Coordinators is to engage and on-board new students. The Admissions Coordinator is typically the first contact a prospective student has with Southeastern College. The nature of the rapport that is built with the student is often the deciding factor in the student's decision to attend a Southeastern College program. As the student's first contact, Admissions Coordinators also play a critical role in ensuring the new student's successful transition and integration into their respective programs. BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION:Admissions Coordinators are responsible for acquiring and enrolling qualified candidates for their campus. Admissions Coordinators accomplish this through:<ul><li>Attracting, engaging, and vetting prospective students</li><li>Maintaining a pipeline of candidates</li><li>Enrolling and starting qualified students</li></ul> ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Pursuing Inquiries and Enrolling Candidates:<ul><li>Review inquiries/leads provided by the Director of Admissions</li><li>Make outbound calls to prospective candidates</li><li>Conduct basic phone screening interview to:<ul><li>Assess interest and get prospect to come in for interview</li></ul></li><li>Set appointments for in-person interviews for likely prospects</li><li>Conduct in-person interviews (phone interviews for e-campus)<ul><li>Administer student self-assessment</li><li>Conduct CQQ - structured interview:<ul><li>Determine readiness</li><li>Identify barriers</li><li>Identify resources and support</li></ul></li><li>Provide overview of Southeastern College and available programs</li><li>Discuss specific program options</li></ul></li><li>Arrange for admissions test (general and any specific program assessments) and review results</li><li>Initiate student enrollment</li><li>Ensure student meets with Bursar to pay application and registration fees</li><li>Arrange financial aid overview with Financial Aid Department</li></ul> Following-up with Candidates:<ul><li>Follow-up with candidate prospects on: general questions, enrollment, financial aid documentation, registration, orientation, and class </li><li>Perform administrative functions including development of the students' permanent records, completing and/or assisting students in completing required forms, and helping students in obtaining transcripts, records, etc.</li><li>Ensure file is complete when transitioning to Financial Aid and Academics departments</li><li>Ensure readiness for orientation</li><li>Coordinate with Financial Aid Administrators</li><li>Participate in orientation</li><li>Greet students for class starts</li></ul> Managing Activity and Business Planning:<ul><li>Learn curriculum and new program offerings</li><li>Know career potential for each program and job market</li><li>Develop weekly business plan for activity</li><li>Keep notes/logs in C2K Campus View</li><li>Maintain pipeline of prospects</li><li>Meet student start objectives</li></ul> PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands are those required in a professional office setting: sitting, communicating with coworkers, and getting to and from appropriate appointments.Admissions Coordinators do spend a great deal of time making outbound phone calls, receiving inbound calls, talking on the phone with prospects, and entering data on their computers. On a given day, anywhere from 30 to 80 percent of an Admissions Coordinator time may be spent on the phone. WORK ENVIRONMENT:Professional office setting: moderate noise levels and controlled indoor climate.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
