Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of the Presiding Workers Compensation Judge and the Supervising Workers Compensation Consultant, the Workers Compensation Consultant (WCC) assists parties, whether or not represented by counsel, by providing general public information concerning workers compensation benefits and procedures.

Working Conditions This position is located at: 6150 Van Nuys Boulevard, Suite 105, Van Nuys, CA 91401.
The incumbent will work 40 hours per week in an office setting equipped with standard office equipment. Air conditioned, in a high-rise building with elevator access, cubicle with natural and artificial lighting. Once formal training has concluded, part time telework may be offered upon approval by the supervisor and consistent with DIRs Telework Policy.

Position Details
Department Information The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) was established in 1927. Its mission is to improve working conditions for Californias wage earners and to advance opportunities for profitable employment in California. DIR administers and enforces laws governing wages, workplace safety and health, apprenticeship training programs, and medical care and other benefits for injured workers. DIR also publishes materials and holds workshops and seminars to promote healthy employment relations, conducts research to improve its programs, and coordinates with other agencies to target egregious violators of labor laws and tax laws in the underground economy.
