Work Arrangement: On-site/In office

Core Business Hours: MondayFriday, 8:00 a.m.5:00 p.m. Central Time

Work Authorization: U.S. work authorization required. Sponsorship is not available.

 

Position Summary

The Workers Compensation Claims Coordinator serves as a liaison between employees, supervisors, medical providers, and insurance adjusters to support appropriate claim handling, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and the safe return to work of injured employees.

This position oversees workers compensation claims, coordinates medical care and transitional work assignments, maintains accurate claim documentation, and facilitates effective return-to-work programs. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and knowledgeable about workers compensation laws, regulations, and claims processes.

 

Essential Responsibilities

Oversee the lifecycle of workers compensation claims including timely filing, documentation, follow-up, and resolution in coordination with insurance adjusters.

Implement, organize, and coordinate limited-duty and transitional work assignments.

Liaise with medical providers and insurance adjusters to monitor treatment, understand employee work status, and align medical care with return-to-work objectives.

Collaborate with managers to develop and implement safe, gradual return-to-work plans.

Identify and assign suitable transitional duties based on medical restrictions and business needs.

Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential claim files and records.

Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal workers compensation laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.

Provide guidance regarding workers compensation policies, procedures, and claim-related processes.

Prepare and maintain accurate reporting and data related to claims and return-to-work activities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications

Education

High school diploma, equivalent credential, or higher required.

 

Experience

Three or more years of experience managing workers compensation claims in a multijurisdictional environment.

Three or more years of experience working as a Claims Coordinator within a corporate Risk Management team preferred.

Experience working with Risk Management Information Systems required or preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Understanding of workers compensation laws, regulations, and claims-adjusting principles.

Understanding of basic insurance principles and coverages.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Power BI.

Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and initiatives effectively.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with employees, managers, medical providers, insurance adjusters, and other stakeholders.

Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to teamwork.

High energy level with a self-starter, proactive, and results-oriented approach.

Commitment to openness, transparency, and unquestioned integrity.
