Unit Secretary 10 Hour, MedSurg (Part Time, Days) Monterey Park Hospital

Overview

Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-acute care facility located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is seeking a Unit Secretary for our Med/Surg Unit. This is a part time, 10-hour day shift position reporting to the Director of Med/Surg.

Responsibilities

The Unit Secretary position job responsibilities include but are not limited to, accurate transcribing of physician orders, maintain patient charts and medical records, provides general clerical duties for the units such as ordering supplies, filing, copying, and submitting maintenance requests, receives documents and properly follows through with telephone inquiries. The Unit Secretary assists with monitoring all persons entering the unit. This position provides administrative support to the nurses and physicians and effectively interacts with all persons entering the unit. The Unit Secretary may occasionally float to various nursing departments.

Qualifications

High school or equivalent preferred. One year of unit secretary experience in an acute care hospital preferred. Current BLS required from the American Heart Association.
