Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive Field Manager to lead and coordinate construction and maintenance projects across government, federal, and commercial facilities. The Field Manager will ensure projects meet schedule, budget, safety, and quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with clients including federal agencies, school districts, and commercial property owners. This role requires hands-on construction oversight, HVAC systems familiarity, and experience managing subcontractors and site staff in regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day field operations for multiple concurrent projects, ensuring work is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate with clients (government agencies, school districts, federal entities, commercial owners, and airport authorities) to clarify scope, schedule, and site-specific requirements.
  • Manage and mentor field personnel, subcontractors, and site supervisors; assign tasks, monitor productivity, and enforce accountability.
  • Oversee quality control and ensure HVAC, structural, and finishing work meet contract specifications and industry standards.
  • Enforce strict safety protocols and regulatory compliance on site, including OSHA, federal, and local regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including daily reports, change orders, RFIs, punch lists, and progress photos.
  • Collaborate with superintendents, project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to resolve field issues promptly.
  • Monitor project budgets and labor costs; track resource allocation and recommend adjustments to maintain profitability.
  • Conduct site inspections and pre-construction assessments for hangar, commercial, school, and government facilities; identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate logistics for site access, deliveries, and work in operational facilities (schools, federal buildings, and airports) to minimize disruption.
  • Support commissioning, start-up, and turnover activities including final inspections and client walkthroughs.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on field management or construction superintendent experience.
  • Proven experience managing commercial, federal, or government construction or renovation projects; HVAC installation and maintenance knowledge strongly preferred.
  • EM-385-1-1 Site Safety and Health Officer or US Army Corps Quality Control Management certifications a plus!
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, safety regulations (OSHA), and quality control procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficient with project documentation tools and construction management software; able to prepare reports, schedules, and cost tracking.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel out of state and be stationed at a job site; ability to work in field conditions.
  • Must be comfortable with long-term travel - housing will be provided at the job site
