Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry unit requiring cardiac procedural care experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit on the hospital's main campus
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Unit staffed with charge nurse, unit secretary, and PCTs
  • Uses Alaris IV pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Dinamap monitors, Welch Allyn vital machines, wound vacs, temporary pacemakers, telemetry monitors, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and dopplers
  • Documentation completed in Meditech
  • Shift runs 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Full-time schedule required, including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
  • Floating required to areas where competency has been demonstrated
  • Uses Imobile for team communication

Requirements

  • Active MO or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, or ICU experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
  • Experience with post cardiac procedural care including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op Day 1 open heart, and permanent pacemaker placements required
  • Experience administering and titrating IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
  • Experience with IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemakers, and Foley insertions
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
  • Two professional references required
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

  • Provide bedside cardiac telemetry nursing care in a fast-paced environment
  • Deliver patient-centered care aligned with facility patient experience goals, including bedside shift report and responsiveness to call lights
  • Join a tenured, family-like unit team, with many travelers transitioning to permanent staff
  • Unit dress code requires navy blue scrubs, with black scrub pants permitted if paired with a navy top
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
