Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level II Trauma Center experience and a WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric General Emergency Department at a Level II Trauma Center
• 12-hour evening shifts, either 1100-2330 or 1500-0330, including weekends and holidays
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being submitted for
• Epic charting experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
• Level II Trauma Center experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience required, minimum 6 months completed, with extensions highly preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria prior to start, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher passing score on adult and pediatric exams
• All references must be removed prior to consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across pediatric and adult populations, including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, psychiatric, and orthopedic cases
• Manage dysrhythmias, obtain 12-lead EKGs, and respond to cardiac emergencies
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and emergency medications, including vasopressors and continuous IV sedation
• Care for ventilated patients and manage BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and arterial lines
• Support trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Apply splints and manage orthopedic trauma
• Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified center
• Free onsite parking available
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered, as at least one prior travel assignment is required
