Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/PCU position requiring MO or compact RN license and 2 years of telemetry experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 233 staffed beds
• PCU/Telemetry unit that operates more like a traditional telemetry unit
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Requires every other weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within Telemetry service line
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO state or compact, not tied to another compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Nursys verification required
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Isolation precautions/PPE knowledge required
• Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management skills required

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level cardiac monitoring and nursing care to PCU patients
• Navy scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
• Standard travelers may work up to 18 months before requiring a 3-month break in service
• Permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler to any BJC facility
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
• Fit testing required; facial hair must accommodate proper fit testing
