Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step Down Unit position requiring 2 years of recent bedside experience and vasopressor titration skills.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 233 staffed beds
• Step Down Unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
• Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday depending on rotation)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float to lower acuity floors within scope as needed
• EPIC charting system used, experience preferred

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must have worked at the bedside within the last 6 months
• Some ICU or high acuity stepdown experience required due to unit acuity
• Trauma Level II hospital experience required
• Skilled in titration of vasopressors, sedation medications, and insulin drips
• Experience managing trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a high-acuity Step Down Unit
• Navy scrub color required
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• No local candidates accepted
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• Returning permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within this health system as a traveler
• Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
