Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Telemetry/Step-Down for a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and ACLS/BLS certification.
Details
- Work in the Telemetry/Step-Down unit of a short-term acute care hospital
- Cardiac telemetry patient population requiring EKG monitoring and cardiac drip management
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within service line to meet facility needs
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (MO or Compact) required, with compact license matching permanent residence
- Current certifications: ACLS and BLS
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
- EKG and cardiac drip management experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skills required include IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, blood product administration, and non-invasive airway management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management required
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and administration of cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
- Work within a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital that is also a Level I Trauma Center
- Navy blue scrubs required
- No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
- Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
- Standard travelers may work at the facility for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
- Former permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Facial hair must accommodate proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved
