Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring NC or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience with Epic charting.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within an inpatient rehabilitation department
• Cares for patients with CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility, including post-stroke, post-aneurysm, and post-op surgical patients
• Patient ratio is 1:6, with one unit rotating a 1:7 ratio at equivalent acuity
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Works every 3rd weekend and holidays as needed
• Float required to any Cone Health campus as needed

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Acute care rehab experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia/EKG interpretation
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam with up to two attempts allowed
• Current driver's license required to verify address
• No first-time travelers considered

Additional Information

• Performs dressing changes and sets up aseptic/sterile procedure trays
• Conducts lab specimen collection and labeling, including capillary, throat, and clean catch urine samples, plus phlebotomy
• Completes medication reconciliation, patient health questionnaires, allergy history, and vital sign monitoring
• Handles telephone triage and pharmacy refill calls
• Must be available for holiday coverage as needed
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as no local rates apply
• RTO must be submitted with the application; no post-submission RTO accepted
