Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift hospital position requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and a GA or Compact RN license.

Details

  • Telemetry unit caring for adults to geriatric patients
  • Common diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
  • Patient ratio of 1:4-5 on a 36-bed unit with an average daily census of 35
  • Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
  • Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team utilization
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and oxygen administration
  • Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and PCA
  • Copies of required certifications needed for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, medication management, and post-cardiac procedure care
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of submission with no post-offer schedule changes
  • No RTO permitted during orientation week or the designated Spring Break blackout (April 4th-12th)
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers who cancel or receive a facility DNR must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
