Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across Cardiovascular Telemetry, Neuro Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical units, with floating expected between units of similar or lower acuity
• Must be able to titrate cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitroglycerin, Heparin, Dobutamine, and Cardizem (titrating down only)
• Interpret EKGs using centralized telemetry monitoring systems
• Care for a diverse patient population including post-cath lab, post-vascular procedures, CABG, neuro post-surgical, CVA post-TPA, and general surgical/oncology patients (patients 15 years and older; no OB/GYN)
• Float between multiple units and, on occasion, between two campuses approximately 9 miles apart; campus and unit assignment communicated approximately 1.5 hours prior to shift start
• Adhere to unit-specific weekend requirements, with every-other-weekend scheduling expected across Tele units and approximately 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period on MedSurg units

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Arizona
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required for Neuro Telemetry unit assignment
• Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract start (maximum 2 attempts, within 48 hours of offer)
• Must successfully pass a Simulation Lab assessment on day one of orientation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in Cardiovascular Telemetry, Neuro Telemetry, or Medical-Surgical nursing
• Familiarity with centralized telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Experience caring for post-surgical, oncology, or orthopedic patient populations
• Comfort with high-acuity float environments and adaptability to varied unit assignments
