Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• High-acuity Surgical/Trauma unit within a Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Unit supported by Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and a night unit secretary
• Nurse handoff conducted between ED and admitting unit
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Must be willing to work assigned shifts with no block scheduling
• Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg specialty required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience in high-volume, high-acuity trauma hospitals required
• Proven experience managing critical, fast-paced trauma situations

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and severe cases
• No RTO permitted during the contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel positions
