Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a high-acuity Level 1 trauma surgical unit requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• High-acuity Med/Surg floor specializing in Surgery Trauma
• Patient population includes surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Deferred scheduling with no block schedules and no guaranteed RTO
• Support staff includes Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and a night unit secretary
• ED nurses and admitting units complete formal nurse handoffs
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg or trauma specialty required
• Proven experience in high-pressure, large-scale trauma environments required
• Experience in high-volume hospitals managing complex and severe cases required
• Prior experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals not accepted
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Work in a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases
• Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
