Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a high-acuity trauma unit requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• High acuity Surgical Trauma floor within a Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes surgical, gunshot, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Unit supported by nursing support techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary at night
• ED nurse and admitting unit complete a formal nurse handoff process
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• No block scheduling available; candidates must be willing to work assigned shifts
• Travelers expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg or Surgical Trauma specialty required
• Prior experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma hospitals required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for a high-acuity surgical trauma patient population in an inner-city Level 1 trauma center
• No RTO permitted during the contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
