Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Step Down RN with critical care skills including vasopressor titration and ICU-level acuity management for a 13-week acute care assignment.

Details

• Acute care hospital Step Down/PCU unit
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Float to lower acuity floors within scope as needed
• No on-call requirements
• EPIC charting system used

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent bedside experience, within the last 6 months
• ICU or high-acuity Step Down experience required
• Trauma Level II hospital experience required
• Recent travel nursing experience within the last 6 months required
• Experience titrating vasopressors, sedation, and insulin drips required
• Experience managing trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes required
• EPIC charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Care for high-acuity Step Down patients requiring close cardiac and respiratory monitoring
• Manage complex drips, invasive lines, and respiratory support devices
• Navy scrub color required
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• No local candidates accepted
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO during the first week
• Facial hair must accommodate respirator fit testing or be shaved
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Standard travelers may work up to 18 months with a required 3-month break in service afterward
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
