Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Telemetry for a night shift position requiring 2 years of telemetry/step-down experience and prior travel experience.

Details

  • Telemetry/Step-Down unit within a Short Term Acute Care hospital setting
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating within service line required to meet facility needs
  • Epic charting system used

Requirements

  • Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry/step-down experience required (dedicated PCU experience not necessary)
  • EKG interpretation and cardiac drip management experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
  • Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and high flow nasal cannula
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
  • Experience with post cardiac catheterization, post MI, and pre/post cardiac surgery care

Additional Information

  • Facility is a Magnet-designated, Teaching Hospital and Level I Trauma Center
  • Navy blue scrub color required
  • Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
  • Former permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period, followed by a required 3-month break in service
  • First-time travelers may be considered based on position eligibility
