Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Stepdown/PCU position requiring at least 1 year of stepdown or telemetry experience and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a Stepdown/PCU/IMC unit at an academic teaching hospital
• Patient population includes MS/Tele, respiratory, and cardiac monitoring cases
• 36 hours per week on night shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Primarily weekday schedule with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
• Float required within the OSU hospital system
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of stepdown/PCU experience required (4 years required if MS/Tele background only)
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and non-invasive airway management
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager or director-level leader and the second from a charge RN or above; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a stepdown/PCU setting including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Former employees are eligible to return as travelers after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for travel assignment
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to urgent credentialing timelines
