Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for an Ortho/Trauma unit requiring ortho and telemetry experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Details

  • Work on a 23-bed 6 East Ortho/Trauma unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • Patient ratios of 1:4 and 1:5
  • Unit supported by Unit Secretaries and PCTs
  • Uses traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
  • Charting performed in Meditech
  • Scheduling consists of three 12-hour shifts with three weekend shifts per schedule period
  • Shift runs 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Contract labor floats first to other Med/Surg level units including General MS, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma
  • Cares for post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients, trauma patients, and some neuro overflow cases

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MO or Compact)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg specialty
  • Ortho experience required
  • Telemetry experience required
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification helpful for neuro overflow cases
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care including bedside shift report and hourly rounding
  • Follow unit dress code requiring navy scrubs
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Two professional references required for Missouri placements
