Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Ortho/Trauma unit position requiring 1 year of specialty experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Work in the 6 East Ortho/Trauma unit, a 23-bed hospital department
• Care for post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients, trauma patients, and some neuro overflow cases
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Unit supported by unit secretaries and PCTs
• Uses traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
• Charting is done in Meditech
• Schedule consists of 3 12-hour shifts per period, including 3 weekend shifts per schedule period
• Shift hours run from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Floating may be required to other MedSurg level units including General MS, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma, with contract staff floated first

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Ortho/Trauma experience required
• Ortho experience required
• Telemetry and NIH Stroke experience helpful
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two professional references required for Missouri assignments
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Perform bedside shift report and hourly rounding as part of patient experience standards
• Navy scrubs are the required dress code
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
